The device supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) in accordance with the IEEE 802.3af standard, enabling simplified installation without the need for a dedicated power supply. Furthermore, the PoE-based power architecture ensures galvanic isolation between the M-Bus network and the power source, enhancing operational safety and system integrity. The converter is capable of communicating with up to 15 M-Bus slave devices. The maximum permissible length of the cable segment connecting to a slave device is up to 1000 meters at a communication rate of 300 bps. For easier management of TCP/IP packets in master system, utility “COM Port Redirector (RFC2217)” is available. This utility allows redirection of TCP/IP packets to Virtual COM Port, alternatively to OPC server.
