CloudImp – Remote Reading of Electricity, Water and Gas, 8× S0, NB-IoT, DIN Rail
Code: 74Product detailed description
CloudImp is a DIN-rail device for remote reading of electricity, water and gas consumption. Its 8 S0 inputs accept electricity meters, water meters, gas meters or any other meters with a pulse output. The device continuously counts the pulses and sends the measured values over the NB-IoT network to the MetrixPortal cloud platform – no SIM card, no data plan and no connection to a local LAN or Wi-Fi network required.
Data are sent every 5 minutes, synchronised with real time (at minute 0, 5, 10, 15 … of every hour), directly in engineering units – kWh and m³. This also makes it possible to determine 15-minute peak demand precisely.

Key benefits
Up to 8 electricity, water or gas meters can be connected to a single device. NB-IoT connectivity is included in the price of the device and the SIM is built in, so the customer does not need to deal with an operator or a data plan. Pulses are converted using the meter constant directly in the device, so the portal receives ready-to-use values in kWh and m³.
In the MetrixPortal cloud platform the data are available in consumption charts and overviews and can be integrated into your own systems via a REST API. Data are stored on servers in the Czech Republic.
CloudImp is installed directly in the distribution board on a 35 mm DIN rail (2 modules wide), it is powered from 230 V AC and its power consumption is max. 1 W. The supplied angled NB-IoT antenna in most cases provides a reliable connection from plastic as well as metal distribution boards.
Typical applications
- sub-metering of electricity, water and gas in residential and commercial buildings
- allocation of consumption between tenants, operations or cost centres
- monitoring of energy consumption in production and process facilities
- monitoring of 15-minute peak electricity demand
- remote reading of meters in distant or hard-to-reach locations
How it works
- CloudImp is mounted on a DIN rail in the distribution board and powered from 230 V AC behind a circuit breaker (e.g. B10).
- The pulse outputs of the meters are connected to inputs IN1–IN8 (IMP+ to the input, IMP− to the common ground GND).
- Meter constants (e.g. imp/kWh) and initial readings are set via USB-C using any serial terminal.
- The device starts sending data to MetrixPortal, where they are immediately available in charts and via the API.
MetrixPortal cloud platform
Data from CloudImp are processed in our MetrixPortal cloud platform. Details about the platform, connectivity and integration options can be found on the page Cloud solution for metering, measurement and control.
